Buen musico y buena persona,nosotros descargabamos Jazz en Cuba en el Club Rio,(cuando aun estaba prohibido tocarlo),Paquito era el organizador de las 'Descargas ilegales', en esos tiempos.(Gerry Zaragemca es una autoridad en materia de Percusion Afrocubana y Musica).

que gran musico como decia chucho valdez a paquito lo considero un genio y a arturo sandoval un virtuoso, paquito es un gran arreglista.

I agree. Listen to his Mozart Theme with Irakere. He's great: virtuosity, axact command of the instrument and a splash of the natural Cuban humor. I think you'll enjoy that theme.

I saw Paquito here in the uk a gd few yrs ago. He was with the Gillespie orchestra (i think Slide Hampton was arranging). As he played, i loved the way he danced and would give cues, his right hand fluttering in the air. Wonderful musician, so full of vitality.
