and what futuristic country may you be from? as the Netherlands is one of the most modern countries in the world.

So strange that we all adapt the "finger/hand in the air" as a thank you.. while we never learn it at school..
-
@wildeny Also note the girl doesn't want to step off here bike XD
-
"Finger up in the air means thank you". It depends of which finger you are raising! :-)
That's not a gesture I will risk doing in Paris, for fear of being misinterpreted.

this countries are 100 years beyond my country.

Wow the cycling infrastructure is so amazing in the Netherlands ! In New Zealand they don't have dedicated cycling paths. They typically just paint a line on the side of a regular street and say "this is a cycle path". It's really dangerous because you have to share the road with crazy car, bus and truck drivers !

@markenlei So Australia is about 25 years behind in bicycle infrastructure. I hope I live long enough to see the change.

a truly great infastructure its got to be said
At 1:07 (bus track crossing), how does the traffic signal work? Does it ring (change the signal) when a bus/car coming automatically?

@wildeny It only turns red when it detects that a vehicle is approaching, it is default green for bikes. You can see it turns green again right after the bus passes. The bell is for extra attention.

Thank you for another great video. Some sections of the path seem a bit narrow for Dutch standards. Is that true?

@MrBfratto for modern Dutch standards yes. Most of this was built in the 1980s and things changed.
