Actor/adventurer Billy Campbell fastens the last plank -- the so-called Shutter Plank -- in the hull of a 48-foot wooden schooner that is being built for him at The Dory Shop in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, Canada. Built traditionally from an original half-hull design by David Westergard using heavy double-sawn frames, fashioned from Osage Orange, with two steam-bent White Oak frames in between and planked in Alaskan Yellow Cedar, Campbell's schooner and her twin, being built right alongside, will be launched later this year by Dawson Moreland & Associates, builders of the new Lunenburg Schooners.
