My son's 4th birthday party.
My sister in law decided to have a surprise show up to spice things up. A live chimp sat and entertained us in our living room for over an hour.

Absolutely priceless.

Unfortunately, my son was terrified after he surprised the chimp and it screamed at him.

Oh well.

Bad Idea #1: letting a chimp put its hands in your face or mouth -- they walk on all fours, pick their privates, play w/their poop, etc.

Bad Idea #2: a Chimp Pimp who pays NO attention to his ape-ho -- criminal negligence when it finally bites a kid's finger(s) off.

Bad Idea #3: renting chimps for parties -- they belong in the wild or (if this habituated to humans) in sanctuaries.

I am disgusted by this video. This man is exploiting an innocent animal, and yes, if this chimp came from Africa its mother was definitely murdered in front of it to provide your little birthday party with some entertainment. Even if it was bred in the US, it WILL get too big and unpredictable to be kept any longer, and then it will be killed or incarcerated for the rest of its life, which can be up to 60 years. So much ignorance, and those that pay the price are the innocents.

Rather, he was likely rescued. It's doubtful they'd be posting vids attracting attention if they got him on the black mkt - b/c imported primates, especially chimps, are VERY illegal. I'll bet you anything this chimp was born stateside and was a rescue. Wild animals only belong in the wild if they can survive - in many cases putting them in the wild is little more than a cruel death sentence
