What a late post. I apologize! But at least I posted? haha. I hope your summer's pretty swell so far. : )

15+ comments would be wonderful.

Karin smiles wickedly as she approaches me; with a drink in her hand, she 'accidentally' trips over the air beneath her and spills it all over Lucas' blazer. All I can do is simply sigh at her stupidity. Really? She could have just asked for him to give us a moment.

"Oh my gosh. I'm so sorry, Lucas." Karin gasps loudly and apologizes. I roll my eyes and turn the other way, trying to conceal the slight smirk on my face. Although I don't approve of her logic, I can't deny the fact that it is sometimes pretty amusing.

"It's fine. I'll just dry it off in the bathroom." Lucas replies coolly as he heads out the door. While my eyes remain glued to his back, I think: Poor guy, falling into Karin's trap like that.

"You could have just asked him to leave, you know." I finally say, taking another bite out of my club sandwich. "Why do you always insist on torturing the guy?"

"First and foremost, close your mouth when you're chewing." Karin snaps, furrowing her eyebrows together in disgust.

I immediately close my mouth at her words. I remember the last time I received a lecture from her about cleanliness; it was an absolute nightmare. I shudder just thinking about it. I mean, seriously though, what's so bad about chewing with your mouth open? It never killed anybody, did it?

"Secondly, what the hell happened between you two this morning?" She asks curiously, the ferocity in her eyes that she had a split second ago now supplanted with girlish glee. She looks like she's going to die from her own excitement. What answer is she expecting, anyway?

Well, I hate to deliver the mother of all buzz kills, but . . .

"Nothing." I respond, shrugging nonchalantly.

"Nothing." She repeats flatly, dubious of my response. I look into her eyes again and the girlish glee I found a couple minutes ago is long gone. She now only has a pair of dark, disappointed eyes. I twitch a little at the sight of her appearance. Damn. Should I tell her? Should I not? Should I tell her? Should I not? If only I had a coin, then I'd be able to make a decision.

I sigh and ask her with a sincere gaze, "Do you reaaaaaaallly want to know?"

Karin nods excitedly with her clenched fists close to her chest. For a moment, I feel like I'm asking a child if he or she wants candy. The answer's obvious, of course.

"Fine," I grumble, a bit embarrassed to tell the whole story to someone else. I lean over and quietly murmur into her ear, acquainting her with the story from A to Z.

"Shut up." That's all she manages to say, or more like squeal. "Shut up!" And this time, she yells.

"YOU shut up." I growl lowly, sending her the mother of all deadliest gazes.

"Alright, alright. Calm down, will you? You look really scary with that gaze right now." She says, tucking a wave of her short dirty blonde hair behind her ear. "Wait a minute!" She shouts out, earning another few glances from curious classmates.

"Lower your voice, will you?" I threaten, grabbing onto the collar of her white blouse.

"Wait, so does that mean you've moved on from—"

Damn it. I already know what she's going to say. I immediately release my grip on her collar and stand up on my feet. "Let's not go there today, okay?" Although I state it as a question, it's really more like an order. "I just . . . really want to leave that in the past, Karin."

Karin frowns and furrows her eyebrows. "No matter how much you try, there are some things that just can't be left in the dark, Lucy. You're going to have to face it sometime. What if he comes back—"

"He won't come back." I state angrily, cutting off her sentence. "Damn it, can we just stop talking about this? I hate being a bitch about it."

"What topic are we so desperate to drop?" Lucas chimes in with a broad grin as he sits himself next to me.
