A brief look at hill climbs on the Rest and be Thankful, near Arrochar in Scotland. Used extensively in the fifties and sixties for motorsport "The Rest" has fallen in to disrepair. Friends of the Rest is an initiative to restore the hillclimb to its former glory for Classic cars to again revisit Scotland's motorporting heritage. www.friendsoftherest.co.uk

  • I know the Rest, just don’t know it that well because I don’t know where this section is, but thanks for posting it…. I recognised most of the cars…. I must be getting old :-(

  • What a shame. I remember watching the rallying greats ripping up this great hillclimb in the 70's as part of the scotish rally. The commentator of the '76 Scotish rally said "Rest and be thankful hillclimb. One of the trickiest and twistest tarmac miles in british rallying." Such a shame to see it go to waste
