OPL at Art in Bloom A

In August 2010 the main Omaha Public Library hosted an exhibit on Contemporary Botanical Art at its Michael Phipps Gallery. Cynthia Gehrie, featured artist in the exhibit, worked with staff from the OPL and Lauritzen Gardens on a project for the Gardens' Art in Bloom Festival. Visitors checked out art packs to create 1 x 1 detail squares using watercolor pencils. After drawing their square they returned to the project center and added water to their design These squares were dried and mounted onto a black tower and included in the OPL exhibit. Additional squares were added by students in after school programs in the Omaha Public Schools.
