Lyrics TEAMCOLE http://www.jcolefans.com/lyrics.htm

Yea, yea, yea, yea, yea, yea

What am I here for? Im a man so why cant I let them tears fall?

But understand trynna get my head clear yall

This shit is on my mind, asking for the Lord to show me all my signs

Show me something, cuz Im trynna find something

Im lost can you show me something?

Huh, Im lost can you show me something?

Verse 1

I sit and reminisce on them niggas no longer here

And how I used to hit the mall and yall was always there

I sit and think how I didnt grow up with my father there

No need to cry cuz it only made me stronger yea

I watch my brother get in trouble with the law and yea

That shit cut me like I was sitting in a barber chair

Cuz I dont want to see them locked up in them bars in there

And I dont want to see him stretched out in a coffin yea

Im wishing I can move my momma out so far from here

I know that she deserve much better and she worked hard as hell

Thats why you never see me settle because they want us here

Im trynna side step the devil but he heartless yea

But just know that im a rebel and yo its almost here

Im talking bout the revolution I am Paul Revere

So dry your eyes momma please you can pause them tears cuz I promise Im gon get us out of here

Im gon get us out of here

Chorus

What am I here for? Im a man so why cant I let them tears fall?

But understand trynna get my head clear yall

This shit is on my mind, asking for the Lord to show me all my signs

Show me something, cuz Im trynna find something

Im lost can you show me something?

Huh, Im lost can you show me something?

Verse 2

I swear Im praying for my niggas when I say grace

Im know them niggas dont care who they hit, they spray strays

But Lord please protect my family cuz if they graze

Niggas is loading up that ammi and them A-Ks

I know its wrong and that revenge is all in your hands

But last night I heard they rob and killed an old man

Now if they cold enough to take a life thats innocent

I know that they could give a fuck whether I live and shit

And so Im asking you if you can hold me down Lord

Be my umbrella-ella-ella in this down pour

I know you never ever ever let me drown or-wont let that devil-evil-evil win this round, naw

And though I stray from you, you know that my heart is good

And I know I aint exactly living how I probably should

And Imma try act better like its Hollywood

Niggas congratulate me, I just tell them God is good

God is Good!

Chorus

What am I here for? Im a man so why cant I let them tears fall?

But understand trynna get my head clear yall

This shit is on my mind, asking for the Lord to show me all my signs

Show me something, cuz Im trynna find something

Im lost can you show me something?

Huh, Im lost can you show me something?

Verse 3

Yea, huh, yea my niggas drug dealing in the trap

Im telling you wake up nigga its a trap-you set up

And to them young mothers feed up, just keep your head up

Dont let up, you fall you get up!

You make your bed up that you sleep in, fake appers aint practicing what they preaching

They tell you hit the trap while they relaxing on the beach and

Im here to spit the facts, a nigga back flipped off the deep end

And smell this shit for what it is, not Kells but I love the kids

And so I make the songs that let em know that they important

Cuz them racist teachers couldnt give a fuck bout what they score is

So they try get them hands up on them grants like Horace

Now slanging for you know it cops is knocking, they got warrants damn!

Uh, and now he running for it, damn!

Yea and now the cops is running for him damn!

And now he finally slowing down

Hands behind your head , lay down on the ground nigga

Chorus

What am I here for? Im a man so why cant I let them tears fall?

But understand trynna get my head clear yall

This shit is on my mind, asking for the Lord to show me all my signs

Show me something, cuz Im trynna find something

Im lost can you show me something?

Huh, Im lost can you show me something?

  • @DJPluginsVEVO I beg to differ, there's a lot of Drake songs that I can relate to, and a lot of Lil Wayne songs that I love to bop when I'm working out, in the car, or love to hear at a club, rap is rap, just because your into the whole lyrical, more society aware rap doesn't mean what other people are doing is fake, or not real rap. This song is the type of shit I listen to and meditate laying down, but then again everything has an occasion, and every type of rap has its public.

  • @coconut123ization Actually that is not rap. for those that are foreign to the term rap is rhythm and poetry; pop rap completely disregards peotry, ofcourse you can relate to what there saying because they're human living life as you are, just a lot more extravagant. This does not condem them as rappers, what they are, is what i call mainstream signatories, not rappers. Wale, J.Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Meek Millz, Lupe Fiasco, Jay Electronica, and some others are rappers. Research.

I have to say I'm in the middle on this one. I love my J. Cole, Lupe, and Kendrick Lamar because they goes some thought provoking lyrics going on that it isn't completely dumbed down for selling mainstream. But at the same time, I still love my Drake as he is still quite lyrical although his lyrics may be superficial. He's still a rapper because he's still able to write and deliver his lyrics well. On the other hand, Lil Wayne needs to learn how to write lyric

  • @TrueMontie seriously i feel the same way every time i listen to him its like poetry

  • doesnt need a video for alot of j.cole's songs, you can literally feel and visualize what he is saying in every bar

  • he should make a video for this song
