If Google would not aquire Amazon, but Twitter, then you have the social profile informatin up to date of millions of people and what they are interested in - this would be the social grid or say GoogleGrid - we will see if they buy it. Then Google could really weigh the importance of news and interestes real time and connect it to their search engine

They already do this by spidering Twitter. That is one reason I try not to use TinyURL in my tweets so my own site links are spidered directly even though they are not followed. (nofollow)

Google uses this just like they do social bookmarking sites. They follow and count the links. The more Diggs, the more votes, the more relevance.
