When white are told or it's revealed to them of this dark chapter in our peoples history we are usually insulted with this notion of a "romanticized" relationship with a slave. We are just now being ALLOWED to search are ancestry but this government is afraid because since 1865 Africans-Americans and African throughout the Diaspora are demanding reparations in the international courts where the statue of limitations never expires. @karashin18 Well unfortunately for African-Americans the reason why you hear some of us claim some Native-American ancestry because some of our ancestors were products of rape.Children are curious little things and tend to ask "where do we come from?" or "Why those Africans look and sound different from us?" Our grand and great-grand parents did not want to re-live the memory or shame so they would tell stories of Native-Americans in hopes of shielding them from knowing the truth.

hmm...in my tribe its considered culturally disgusting to marry your cousins. We consider 4th cousins close kin, it gets socially acceptable to date your 6th cousins so long as they are only related to you on one side. Since my people were massacred to the point where there was only 86 people left at the treaty signing, (2% of our previous population) we have had to marry "out" often. Sorry if my kids are only 3/8ths, I'll make sure I stop bringing them around the tribe. Full bloods, shut up.
