Osprey Starting A Nest

This video of an osprey at South Padre Island is part of a series of photos that I took. The osprey was just starting to bring sticks to the crotch of the tree to start building a nest.

What a beautiful bird. When I lived in the country we had a few of these around. I haven't seen one of these in years.

this is SO lovely! We have an osprey and her nest nearby, we've seen her youngins too since they were in the nest (on a powerpole) and they took flight and we watched them practice hunting prey, it was spectacular! There were 4 young ones and the big mother osprey nearby on another powerpole watching!
