  • does anyone know what year this was?

  • This was the 1988 Philadelphia Folk Festival

  • I believe that would be Geoff Muldaur, with the late and great Fritz Richmond on the jug; and the name of the song is Minglewood. Thanks for posting.

  • Thanks for the info.

  • Very, very nice! Love to see some more of this appearance by the band.

  • Ok.

  • RIP Fritz. Great job.

  • I remember that show. Never did find out why Kweskin didn't appear.

  • Fritz did tell me that he was the one who came up with the name The Lovin' Spoonful for Sebastian's band but he didn't tell me where he got the name from. Thanks for filling me in.

  • Fascinating to compare this with the "Chasin' Gus's Ghost" rendition, so many decades later. May we all age as intelligently and gracefully as Geoff.

  • Thats live music for ya baby!!! I've done worst intros myself..but, hey, I'm not as talented as you.

  • Frank Zappa:"Shut up and play yer guitar!"

  • Great number. He's a terrific vocalist. But WEHT Jim Kweskin?
