Science Under Pressure with Aquanaut Dottie Metcalf-Lindenburger Conducts the Cartesian Diver Experiment in the Aquarius Habitat at 2.5 times surface level pressure.
In the topside version of the Cartesian Diver experiment ( http://youtu.be/tvZKba_8lqE ), Aquanaut Dottie Metcalf-Lindenburger used her hand to apply pressure to the bottle, forcing the medicine dropper to sink to the bottom. In the Aquarius habitat, the increased atmospheric pressure -- acting much as Dottie's hand did topside -- forced the medicine dropper to the bottom, where it stayed.
