Am I hearing mission accomplished? Sounds like the oil companies got the deals they wanted and the U.S. taxpayers will be paying the bill for 100 years! I will vote for Bob Barr!

during that "mission accomplished" speech...
"major combat operations in iraq have ended"
-George W. Bush

if weve succeeded why are we still there?
besides, the pundits that he is referring to who say the war is unwinable, didnt ruin there reputation with that sentiment.
Their reputations were ruined when they supported this war from the beginning. Editorial, after editorial. Tv program after TV program.
"were all neocons now" - chris matthews.

This Success Crap makes McCain looks more so like Bush's "Mission Accomplished" gargle. Do these fucks think they can play the same old tricks on the American People and brainwash them again. I personally will take McCain's word about "We've succeed in Iraq" and shove it right back up his ass. Calling a failed war from a begining a "success" is not only missing the initial point of going to war but also taking the American people as a bunch of fools to believe such crap.

what a joke

An objective reading of the facts shows that certain leaders of the Democrats deliberately sought to force America into losing a war for political gain. Nothing changes that, and no matter how many times it is swept under the carpet it will re-emerge for all to see. They said the war was lost. They tried to defund the troops in the field. They said the Surge would make things worse. And they were wrong. Stunningly wrong.

Ask the crew of the USS Lincoln how they felt to have the Commander in Chief trap on the ship that day? to commend them for mission accomplished?
What is wrong with you?
Put yourself in the crews shoes.
Think about the honor it was for that pilot to fly with the President and give him back the stick for a bit. Bush was a military pilot too. He earned his own wings once too.

Mr. CessnaDriver2:No shit? I can assure you that I am fully informed on this issue and the banner shown to the media, after GWB came in on a fighter wearing a flight suit, was simply a PR stunt to put a good face on a poorly planned and thought out situation.
Funny that McCain "knows how to win wars" when he kept trying to say we lost vietnam b/c of the media, not the govt lying or being shady or trying to do something we shouldn't have been doing, just like Iraq McCain parroted Bush up till it was convienient, it'll be easy, and quick he said. He's been pushing for this since 98, and remember he's an part of an offshoot of the Project for a New American century.Plus he crashed 5 planes,Keating 5, cheated on a broken wife and left her for an heiress

I spent way too much time living in a tent in Iraq (and Afghanistan). I know what it's like there. Trust me, it's time to go. The Iraqis have spent the last 2000 years living under the rule of dictators and kings. I would love to see a legitimate democratic government take root and prosper, but keeping American troops on the ground is not the answer.
