My father talking to a neighbour about his Aunt. She passed away recently at the grand old age of 103.

People always ask what the accent is like where I come from.

@TwilightsSerenity Lol my friends struggle with my fathers accent, i wouldnt be too worried about not being able to understand it XDD It's second nature to me.

@3conormccabe the dublin accent can be hard too, im from a culchie part of tyrone and we say things like bey instead of boy and och well u know urself sir and u would find it hard to understand

My mums side of my family is Irish, I can hardly understand my Grandmother ahaha :) Love it all the same though

It does at least to my ear sound like it definitely contains a Scandanavian intonation to it. I took Swedish in university and the thing that stuck in my mind was the intonation of her inflected speech which was oddly a bit like this.

I dunno if it is a good sign that I can understan everything they are sayin! Me nan and grandad talk like this and so does everyone around!
