  • This is when Whitesnake was REALLY good. They're still good, and was with the 1987 album and onwards, but this is the last of the classic Whitesnake. R.I.P. Mel... I wish Moody, Murray, Lord etc. would reunite with Coverdale for a tour with only old material.

  • john sykes took the blues out of whitesnake and turned it american...

    i prefer this version =]

  • Best version ever....

  • R.I.P. Cozy.

  • @canoekid Of course, John Sykes is English, in case you didn't know..........

  • @bonfirejovi, they had tons of misplaced talents in the latter versions of the band. Sykes, Vandenburg and Vai have much more technical skills than the earlier guys for sure, but they were nothing but pure wankery in Whitesnake and I could do without. Listen to some of Vai's solo material when he's playing on his own ground the guy is amazing, but he just didn't work in Whitesnake, more technically skilled or not. I feel sorry for people like you who just a song by note per second...pathetic

  • @shred5 sailing ships requires MUCH more talent to play or write than a bog standard blues tune. i feel sorry for people like you that suffer from misplaced musical snobbergy. sorry sykes was a more creative guitarist, more versatile... listen to his solo stuff if you want proof. he made the unthinkable move of getting out the pentatonic box. vandenberg helped write the songs and vai played on them. whitesnake had HUGE amounts of talent at that point it and it shows.

    both versions are good.

  • @canoekid sorry i like all versions of whitesnake but sykes was a MUCH better guitarist than these two, much more versatile and creative... listen to his solo work for example.

  • 1:22 Win..

  • I bet Jon Lord's Mustache got more pussy than the rest of the band!!!

  • @bonfirejovi, I actually meant to say Slide it in was the start of their commercial downfall too... Slide It In, however was good. Self titled was meh? and I want the $2 I paid for Slip of the Tongue back...

  • @simonsblackmore, Cozy Powell was a great drummer too, RIP!
