In the state of Georgia LPNs do most things RN's do except give certain cardiac drugs, and hang blood(there are exceptions) but make about 5-7 dollars an hour less over all. $15.50-$22 an hr for LPN and $23-$30 an hr for RN. Medical Assistants and Patient Care Techs make $10-$16 an hr. CNAs make $7.25-$13 an hr.

Again, I must encourage all of you to get your RN unless you want to work in convelescent homes. Our RN's get paid almost $25.00 more an HOUR...sometimes more. You have more say so over what you do and where you work. I'm almost 58, have been an LVN for 35 years because life got in the way and I was never able to go back to school. I sure wish I had done it when I was young...I hope someone will remember this and go for your RN while you are young...you will make a lot more money!

I thought LVN'S get paid pretty well. Thanks for the info.

i'm an lvn :)
I've been an LVN for over 35 years. After 29 years on my job, they are saying we need our assessments signed by an RN and basically, we get called off when they don't have time. This is horrible here in California. Unless you want to work for lower pay in convelescent homes, don't become an LVN. It's worth it to get your RN. If you can succeed at getting an LVN, you can get your RN. Go for it!
