  • can the elephants also jst move one field or are do they have to go 2 fields?

  • @MaxikingNimero

    Hi,

Thank you for your question. If I understood it correctly, you are asking me whether the elephants can move one point diagonally. If this is your question, the answer is no. Elephants move two points diagonally, and they can do this only if the intervening point is unoccupied.

  • in previous video you said rook cant cross river.time1:20 - 1:30 you crossed it.i dont understand what do you want to say.

  • Actually, I said that elephants can't cross the rivers. I also said that kings and guards are limited to the fortress.

    Thank you for your input.

  • thx. for the vid.

  • I am happy you enjoyed it. Are you learning the game now?

  • Hi Mike,

I've been playing Chess since I was 4 when my Father taught me and think it's a fantastic game. I hadn't seen Chinese Chess until I moved to Vietnam 6 months ago. They play on the street here in large groups. They have the boards painted on the footpath and they strike up games every afternoon. I've wanted to learn, and I'm studying the pieces now so I can play with the old buggers on the street. Looks like fun! I'll let you know how I go. Thanks for the videos. Keep it up.

  • Are there any chinese chess tactic server that you can practice solving?

  • I so wanna learn Chinese Chess i like the game

  • @jvmc08 i would not say chess is better... but i even would not say chinese chess is better

so what i mean is... that every single game has their own charme... and everyon has to find their favorite game for themself.... soo you maybe like chess more... but there are discussions about, which game has more complexity... or needs more ability and so on... thats oke... but dont say just... that is better than the other... it makes you very cheap!!!!!!

  • the regular chess is better, The Game of Kings

  • @ElephantChess ok thanks :)

    btw nice tut

  • Heh, the horse can't jump over pieces. >:D I'm totally gonna learn this game, lol.

  • that's what he says in the video. And it's pivotal to the tactics of the game as to blocking it. Unlike "standard" chess, these can be blocked.
