Go eat out of Imam Reza's ass, you don't know shit about true Iranian history! The revolution happened because Iran became wealthy over night in the 1970's because of OPEC, the Shah's creation, and Tehran, Iran's major city, did not have the infrastructure (housing) to handle all the villagers who were moving to Tehran to take part in the massive oil wealth. These poor people were lied to by the mullahs and the rest is history. 80% of Tehranis in 1978 were first or second generation villagers.

@BanditosYankees Sassanid Persia was rife with public anger against the corrupt kings, the Empire was crumbling! Persia was heading downhill fast after its expensive wars against Eastern Roman Empire. Islam came and rejuvenated Iran into a moral, cultural and scientific centre in the world. in 1979, i dont care what you say, the fact is that the Shah gave Iran away just to stay in power and poverty was ever growing in a plutocratic system. Islam came AGAIN to Iran's rescue...this time for good!
