He's an undercover fed lol!! His mom probably knows he's a fed since that's what he went to school for right. Maybe she just thinks he's a regular cop. She actually doesn't know he's in the mob she just thinks he has a regular job probably being a a detective or cop. She never wanted him to get involved with the mob. So he wouldn't tell her the truth because she would tell him to leave Sonny alone.

At the begging of that meeting with the guy in the laundry mat I was thinking he was an undercover cop or something till they brought up Daddy Zacharaa. I'm just crossing my fingers he 1 dosen't sleep with CZ and 2 he and Sonny learn the truth before one of them is hurt
