This last week was a complete and utter monstrosity for me, seeing as I had three different group projects going on at the same time. One was for Theology, one was for English (this project), and one was for a mandatory fluff class that serves very little real-life value.
My class recently had to read "The Bean Trees", a 1988 novel by Barbara Kingsolver, and our professor put us into three-man groups to make sure we got the work done quickly and efficiently. Two groups conducted interviews, and another did a PowerPoint presentation. My teammates, however, approached me after we got the assignment and said, "Skye, how would you like to write some song parodies for our Kingsolver project?"
Since I have been in the filk (song parody) business unofficially since I was eleven years old (this will soon be an eight-year quirk of mine), and have some experience with this relatively-useless talent. Weird Al made a living out of doing this, but I'm not that lucky. I wrote a sampler set of songs for the project, but "Stay Away from Angel" a spoof of "Keep Your Hands to Yourself" by the Georgia Satellites, was the most popular number. "Estevan", a spoof from Black Sabbath's "Paranoid", was a close second.

Start a subplot for "Bean Trees" and make a change of residence.
In the start they seem alright, until the wife tries suicide.
Estevan explains the rest; there is a pain they hide inside.
Is their daughter still alive today?
Who knows?
Immigration is a thing Kingsolver takes to heart, we see.
Help the people like these two, don't leave them there in misery.
Estevan and his wife, Esperanza, Goosemunky, are two victims in the Barbara Kingsolver book "the Bean Trees". They're a couple of illegal immigrants from Guatemala the protagonist befriends.

Thank you; the fact that you could hear yourself laughing in the background, Miranda, gives me some relief. Apparently, I didn't make your eardrums bleed after all!
