On June 18, 2006 a dozen future agricultural leaders from Pennsylvania, all members of the FFA, embarked on Expedition Susquehanna, a 444-mile trip downriver to make connections between communities and creeks.
The journey, hosted by the Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF), began at the Susquehanna's headwaters in Cooperstown, New York, snakes its way through Pennsylvania, and continued to Maryland and its final destination, the Chesapeake Bay.
En route, participants learned about water quality concerns on the main stem of the mighty Susquehanna and its tributaries. They visited with local watershed groups and environmental activists, who shared information about the impact of agriculture, abandoned mine drainage, and other topics. They even had the chance to fly-fish, snorkel, and share in local festivities along the way.
Gosh i miss everyone.
