Hi friends, this here is a video I made with my great pals Chris and Jesse in an evening to test out and demo that fancy splitscreen, multi-angle, real-time technique they always use on 24.

  • anyone know what vista, mp4 video editing program i can get for split screen?

  • I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure you can't cut with mp4 footage. Mp4 is an h264 derivative, which is pretty great as a delivery compression, but is insanely taxing on the system you're cutting with.

If you're looking for a good editing program on Windows, definitely do some reading on Adobe Premiere Pro. It's about the best you can get on PCs.

  • can you make a video on how to do it please

  • That's a great idea! Thank you for suggesting it. I'm thrilled that someone cares enough to want to know how to do this effect.

I'm very busy right now with school and all, but I'm definitely going to write this idea down and whip it up one day when I have nothing else to do.

  • how did you do the part where it crops down (at 1:10) i worked out the rest

  • That was done using the magic of keyframe animation! Vertical and Horizontal crops animated together to make a smaller, windowed image at the end.

  • What kind of program that you've used to do this kind of split?

  • Did you have to use a stopwatch and write down the time length of each video to make this 24 style story make sense? I use Vegas HD ver 9 and I don't know if vegas is possible to replicate the 24 split screen style? I think I should make a storyboard to make things easier. Please reply.

  • LOL Fancy ! :D

  • Great Proj for newbies... kid's 'ya can easily do this using layers in Premiere Pro... Have fun but don't go Ballistic...

  • great effects!

what kind of program did you do? I have Adobe Premier Elements 7, can I do the splitcrees with this program?

  • use the effect time-ticking like 24 and sum adding ++ ( u know what to do )
