This is an awesome receiver with like a million inputs. Hefty price though and not to reliable when it comes to video quality. Just like Sony to screw up with the video.

  • Also the STR-DN1010 has 4HDMI's ( not six ) still not bad !!

along with 24P ( 24 frames per sec) film decoder / processer

over 700watt's . Bravia Sync . menu's are easy set up ( on screen menu ) Gui speaker calibration ( very nice ) also the remote has BD live button's ( Red , Green , Blue ..etc etc ... Work's great !! You can def buy a good reciever for 500$ to 750$ !!

  • I got the STR-DN1010 Sony Receiver 7.1 . 3D . 110watt per channel .. It was only 550$ . I could never afford 3gz for this model .. The one I got is pretty nice reserch it , has the good video's / audio decoder's etc etc . for DTS master audio & Dolby truHD .

  • @diablillo94 Their primary purpose is to amplify sound as route video signals to your TV from various sources. See wikipedia "receivers". It's very helpful.

  • @ApFaqTech I have a question: You know where I can find a Manual for the Sony FM Stereo/FM-AM Receiver, Serial #: 8867293, Model #: STR-D915?

  • if for people that want 7.1 ch sound.

  • Does the receiver changes the sound quality?

I mean i know it can decode HD Lossless audio. But will my movies sound better or will it be just about the multichannels.

I have an old Technics AV Receiver bought in like... 2002 i think.

Will the difference be obvious even for normal 5.1 for exemlpe?

  • sounds stupid but..

whats a reciever and what can i use it for?

  • You may have to bite the bullet and take advantage of the warranty by disconnecting your receiver and sending it off to be repaired.

Or, keep pushing to get a service technician over to your place.

Your system is not functioning properly because of a faulty receiver and the problem is not going to get any better by doing nothing about it.

  • Cool.

  • i have a sony str dg350 7.1 hd its amazing
