Political lessons from the Wizard of Oz in the modern era.
Cast:
The Witch of the East (dead) represents the first progressive/liberal casualty of elections that went down to defeat in a state that always/normally elects progressives/liberals.
The Wicked Witch of the West (alive) represents the progressive ELITE (political and media).
Dorothy represents the everyday voting people of the USA suffering under the burden of different stimulus, health care, czar appointments, etc. continue.
Glinda (The Good Witch of the North) represents the OPTIMISTIC that are pointing to a better and more liberating way out from underneath the burden of the ways of the evil witch sisters.
The scene:
This is the time in recent history (AFTER) the ELITES have had many many town hall meetings (during recent congressional recess) when legislators either didn't attend or just simply endured an increasingly upset group of voting constituants .. to which many did not listen.
The ruby slippers: the trust of the current angry voting public.
The objective of the progressive ELITE (politicians and media) ... is to get the trust of the people back to where it belongs .. under their own control. Once trust is out of their control, they threaten unpleasant things upon the voters.
The objective of the OPTIMISTIC is to show the voting public how powerful trust truly is and to warn the progressive ELITE that future elections will end in the same way if they don't pay attention to the voters.
Wow, even in the classic movie Glinda sounds kinda ditzy. And yea, i've said because I've recently seen the musical Wicked.
