I'm all for new and different things (that's the spirit of jazz), but bad tone is just bad tone, and its not narrow-minded to make an observation like that. Also, his solo did not add to the song, it made me lose interest. A song like that needs energy, and the energy just died when he started playing. And for the record, that didn't sound like he was exploring his saxophone, it sounded like he stayed in one place that was comfortable for him the whole time.

I couldn't help but notice how much the guy is shaking. Almost like he's high. His tone is shaky also.

Smoking crack makes your voice shaky I could see how it would make you play and sound shaky also.
