I love this video, 1960 to 1964 in Azusa, CA this truck stopped by every week and brought goodies. I did a vid with the actual truck whistle. I love this video.
My first vehicle was an old Helm's truck. I loved that truck. I bought it from friends of my parents. The owner used to work for Helms until it went out of business, and he bought the truck from them when that happened. My mom had been lamenting about how I'd need a tank to stay safe on the freeways and this wonderful couple rendered up their gem at exactly the amount I had saved for my first car.
When is a Helms truck not a bakery truck? Answer: When it's a Helms Tow Truck! Helms owned thier own private Tow Truck, now sitting in my man cave. DDB
it is a blast from the past - thank you for posting!! I almost makes ya want to see the goodies when the driver opened those long drawers.........Those were great times in the 60s in Pomona California. Thanks again!
@vickerschannel That was the first trucks they used. The last 2 were chevys.
This truck was from the 30's and 40's. Then they used 50's style chevy and then 60's chevy. The 60's style is what came by my house in pomona, ca. in the 60's.
