  • Oy! My band, "Root Boy Slim and the Sex Change Band", did a 40 date tour in '79, opening for the Blockheads. It was FANTASTIC!!! They were one of the best sounding, most polished, live bands ever. As much as I LOVE their records, I loved them LIVE, even more! They were ALL great mates, too!!! R.I.P. Ian and Root Boy. Ernie Lancaster

  • RIP Ian. What a legend

  • I know I should know but the guy at the end who gets on stage ( in the shades) looks really familiar. Who is he ? Saw them play City Hall Cork city, St Stephens night 1980. I've been to see hundreds of bands since and nothing comes close to that gig.

  • There will never ever be another like Ian Dury - a genius!!...and with the blockheads an awesome combination that will always stand the test of time.

  • How come this track sounds so much better live. I have to dought the studio production.

  • Is the drummer actually watching Norman Watt-Roy for his timing?

  • Is that Dylan Howe on drums?

  • Lovely Video....Gr8 song..Fantastic musician !! Cheers, Ian ............

  • I think Norman was a Canveyite

  • Hes from Canvey?!!!!!!

  • Those were the days........

    Thank you Ian!

  • I SO regret never catching him live... thanks for the post !
