But he would have made a good tarzan too, all the other actors I've seen don't have the ability to show the same kind of innocence that would only come from never really seeing another human being. Brendan fraser is a very good actor. Unfortunately he couldn't pull of tarzan now :(

Yes, Tarzan did shave. You'll find lots of details about Tarzan in the novels written by his creator, Edgar Rice Burroughs. "Jungle Tales of Tarzan" to be exact, details a lot of Tarzan's youth, including his concept of creation and God. A very interesting novel.
