After doing the conversion I went back and installed the bolt hold open. This installation takes a lot of patience (and beer). Good Luck!

  • use a PUNCH/BOLT/DRILL ROD,ANYTHING of similar or smaller diameter to aline those holes....trust me,...MUCH MUCH MUCH easier and how they build those in the first place

  • I tried that method first and couldn't get it to work actually. Then I went to the dental floss method and got it in about 5 minutes. It is interesting how different ways work better for different people.

  • Interesting. I'm getting my 7.62 on Tuesday and am thinking of doing the conversion. Seems like you need a lot more dexterity for the BHO install than just the pistol grip move. Did you also install a bullet guide? Thanks for the vid.

  • I purchased a bullet guide but have yet to install it. In the process of installing a US made gas piston.

  • Wish it was this clean and sturdy lookin an option for us non-Saiga owners

  • yours didnt come with a bho ????

  • Couldn't believe it, but it worked for me. Thanks for the vid!

  • First put a slight downward bend at the end of the short end of the BHO spring

On the Saiga 12 i installed the Tapco trigger group first, then slide the axis pin thru from the left side, leave just enough room to install the BHO spring ( holding it down in place with needle nose pliers) then simply slide the axis pin all the way to the right. This holds the spring in place.Set the BHO in place. Pull the rear of the spring up with needl nose pliers after the hammer and mainspring assembly

  • I think the Tapco hammer counts as one of his 922R compliance parts.

  • I just installed a BHO on my Saiga 410. It's a little harder, cuz the dental floss trick doesn't work. The BHO slot isn't below the trigger axis pin. It sucked, but I got it. By the way, does anyone know if the 410 BHO is supposed to lock the bolt back so far forward that it doesn't clear the the magazine? Seemed weird to me.

    Thanks

  • You can bend the legs of the hammer spring behind the ears of the hammer and avoid dental floss.

  • Thanks for posting! Do you have any feeling back in your fingers yet? lol.

  • good video. your convincing me on upgrading both my saigas (s-12 and 7.62) . doesnt look that hard. thanx

  • thanks for taking the time to make a video..good info
