people take homers illiad as a true historical document, but the closest manuscript to the time it was written is 2000 years after. the closest bible gospel manuscript is 25 years later. that seems like a double standerd

@LambadLambadLambda But in the context of the entire Bible, when Satan appears he's always causing problems for God and God's people. If God is going to cast an angel out of heaven, we can be assured that he has a very good reason - Satan wanted to be God, not to help people, not to love people, but to bring glory to himself by doing nothing. How much have the Bible have you read? :)

Falling like lightening from heaven could be used to describe a plane crashing, it doesn't mean that plane lead a rebellion against God etc...

@LambadLambadLambda Pastor Mark is not a douce, he is a committed follower of Christ, here's a scripture to support what he said: He (Jesus) replied, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven" - Jesus witnessed Satan being cast out of heaven by God the Father. God Bless :)

God used "man" to write the gospel because he couldnt use animals, cars, and chairs.  man has hands and can reason unlike animals and objects.

man was INSPIRED BY GOD as to what to write. man themselves being in flesh and born into sin will NOT write a book that's going to go against what their flesh enjoys and feels. man alone will not tell man to love enemies and to have one spouse and that killing and homosexuality is wrong. only God will say this to man and send the holyghost to us

That verse is talking about the planet VENUS. "Day star, son of the morning" That is how the ancients referred to venus. The bible is full of astrology. Look it up.

I think the way he's thinking about his faith is pretty radical by an American bishop's standards - especially one who used to be fundamentalist. He also seems quite knowledgeable and on the right track.

actually...the bible does say that satan was cast out of heaven...read the bible (the book of Isaiah) before you start throwing out accusations from what you heard someone else say is or isn't in the bible

This is a man-made book. At least the jews are honest enough to admit it.
