I havent read this one from Thomas Hardy. I read most of his novels, i love them so much. Nice video. I like to read the book first before i watch the movie.

I read the novel after watching this film and I have to say I was kinda disappointed in Hardy. I liked the movie characterizations much more. I actually wrote an article on the subject.

I have that episode of Miss Marple with James. Great episode. Nothing like the book but still a good movie. Have you seen him in the Primeval series. ;)

Yes the book is not one of his best, although certainly the most optimistic. There isn't a huge amount of plot or characterization, which is atypical of Hardy. They did the dramatization very well.

I really liked this movie but can somebody tell me why its called Under the Greenwood Tree? I haven't read the book, but nothing happened with the tree other than showing in the movie??!
