Mike Iaconelli and friends head out on scenic Lake Champlain in search of smallmouth bass. Pattern fishing smallmouth bass on Champlain. Dropshot 8" leader 16ft depth with Berkley Gulp on Abu Garcia Veritas rod.
I lived on the north end of the lake from May to October one year and fished Champlain a bunch. Nothing I have fished anywhere else except maybe Huites even comes close for numbers of fish. Water was 55 degrees, early spring and I caught 13 nice size blacks on crawdad crankbait fishing all the small rock points sticking out on a shoreline protected from the wind. I can not remember ever having a bad day. 10 lb Fireline and watermelon Sinkos worked really well.
