Can you get to the East Lancs Railway if you don't drive? Is there a metro link or, a mainline station near?

The Metrolink would be a good bet (it's something I use to get to the ELR); If you're travelling from either Piccadilly or Victoria in Manchester, get a tram to Bury. The ELR (Bury Bolton Street) is only about a five minute walk away from the Metrolink/Bus station.
