On 23 October, Amnesty International held a vigil in front of the Palace of Justice (Brussels, Belgium) to demand clemency for Troy Davis.
Troy Davis is scheduled to be executed on October 27 at 7pm for the murder of Police Officer Mark MacPhail in Georgia. The Supreme Court declined to hear his appeal, despite a credible claim of innocence. 7 out of 9 witnesses have recanted, no murder weapon was found and no physical evidence linked Davis to the crime. The Georgia Board of Pardon and Paroles denied clemency to Davis -- we must urge them to reconsider their decision.

  • I just heard about this here in Australia.?

What is wrong with America? killing so many innocent people only for them to find out later with DNA evidence that they were innocent?

Why the hell is the death sentence still around anyway? Every other civil country got rid of it centuries ago, so why the hell is this un-evolved practice continuing in this day & age?

It makes no sense at all! Absolutely pathetic... This guy is 100% innocent, no evidence, & far from "beyond reasonable doubt"...

  • Evaluation non pour la réalisation mais pour le message. Si la justice dérive, oui nous sommes tous des Troy Davis en devenir et pourtant trop peu de personnes semblent en être conscients.
