I was unable to find the time to answer comments here. Unfortunately a friend of mine and myself were recently severely threatened by neo-nazis and we had to DEAL with it. Anyone who can understand Greek can read it in my blog. I support a PEACEFUL solution in the Middle East. Anything else is... toothpase.

Their CHAPTER says Israel has no right to exist.

Their proposal is for 10 year ceasefire - not truce even - PROVIDED Israel deports HALF MILLION JEWS from "west bank" and allows 4 MILLION ARABS into a country with 6 million non-Arabs and 1.5 million Arabs as it is today.

Which, translated into straight-speaking English, is a demand for suicide today in return for 10 year lull in violence.

I dont support Hamas. I think they should regognize Israel and PEACE instead of 10 year truce. West Bank Jews in are ILLEGAL colonialist thieves. They should AT LEAST pay heavy compensation. I prefer Moustafa Barghouti's idea of NON-violent resistance. STOP the war.

Furthermore, the Palestinians should REALIZE NOW, that ALL the suicide bomber and ALL the rockets, all these years have ACHIEVED NOTHING, except give Israel EXCUSES to continue the occupation and bigger atrocities. Non-violent struggle is necessary. Mustafa Barghouti tells the truth. NOT Hamas, NOR Fatah (I think so, anyway)

Finally: Israel is causing the MAIN problem, since Hamas has ALREADY AGREED on Peace based on UN resolutions and the return of Israel to the LEGAL borders it had in 1967. Please DON'T hide the facts, WE KNOW them. Israel wants to keep the settlements and also treat the Palestinians like shit. THIS IS THE MAIN PROBLEM.

Another thing: Israel REFUSED to cooperate with Goldstone, which is the reason why there are only two pages in his report about Hamas rockets. Instead of rejecting the report, however, you should agree to SUPPLEMENT it. I would ALSO more evidence on rocket victims and I'd like Hamas NEVER to hit civilians again.

There is plenty of evidence that Israel violated the Geneva Conventions against use of force against civilians. Facts, not hysteria.

@grafflerab "Truth?" You must be joking? I've read the Goldstone Report from start to finish. It is critical of both Israel AND Hamas (I saw the word Hamas listed 47 times in the report). Goldstone is highly critical of Hamas firing Katushka rockets into Israel and for comingling in civilian areas at times. Goldstone seems more critical of Israel b/c Israel's actions are worthy of criticism - disproportionate force should be criticised. Is Israel above the law?

@p058720235 Goldstone only retracted one portion of the report, which was to say that Israel did not target civilians as a matter of policy. Furthermore, the other 3 co-authors stand by the original report. Lastly, this woman, like Israel claims that the witness accounts were one sided. I guess they would be if Israel after repeated requests from Goldstone refused to cooperate or participate in the investigation. They wouldn't even allow him access to Gaza through Tel Aviv.

@janojoe It is impossible to debate any issues with those that are blindly in support of Israel. Reason gets turned on its head as Israeli apologists play the "Blood Libel, Anti-Semitism" card over and over again. Face it, atrocities are repeated so frequently by the IDF that they must be part of policy; or else IDF soldiers are in mutiny as the massacre innocent school children by blowing up buildings indiscriminately. Shame!

It would be nice, if both groups didn't hate each others guts, and for good reason. Saying war should stop is an admirable claim, and most of us agree. Its the how that's an issue, and getting angry at a nation for taking part in war when you don't have a peaceful solution is unfair.

I think that you might be giving the UN a little too much credit there, though I definitely see that as their intention. I agree more with Israel, a democratic nation then terrorists but, your mileage may vary.
