  • I'm spending this Sunday afternoon strolling down memory lane -- thank you for posting this. I know that any minute my tears will begin to flow .

  • JUNIOR WALKER AND THE ALLSTARS VERSION IS WAY MUCH BETTER... THEY HAD MORE SOUL.. BUT OF COURSE YALL ALREADY KNOW AND HEAR THAT. ;-)

  • ...when lads had beautiful hair on top of their heads and real talent inside them.

  • @hthomasmanning why don't you google him and share this song with him..

  • Summer of 1969. I was in the army at Fort Leonardwood Mo. My best buddy fell in love with a local girl, head over heels, he was a handsome guy too. But she dumped him. This was one of our favorite songs and it haunted him. He said this song was written for him. He teared up listening to it and later went AWOL. I never saw him again.

  • I remember my dad playing this 8track in his car on our way up north to Traverse City each summer to pick cherries.

  • I remember this when it came out. Beautiful expression of our inevitable human experience. Still evokes emotion.
