At this year's Oscar telecast, Hollywood luminaries Roger Corman, Lauren Bacall, Gordon Willis, and John Calley will not be standing on stage to receive their much deserved Honorary Awards. Instead, they received them at a private dinner over a month ago. I believe this practice should stop! Please watch my video and comment if you agree.

  • Not to take away from the other nominee's but did the academy NOT honour Lauren Bacall at the Live ceremonies? That's just sad.

We are forced to sit through what J-Lo is wearing but they can't take the time to honour these legends in the field?

  • @donovan1971 Last year, Lauren Bacall and Roger Corman (the only honorees in attendance) were allowed to stand up and be acknowledged. The audience clapped. End of story. No film clips, no history, no presentation of their much-deserved awards.

  • No matter what attitude anyone may have had, they are HOLLYWOOD LEGENDS. And have stood the test of time heck Lauren Bacall's been around for longer than the younger stars in the room and their parents and she along with Elizabeth,Mickey, Kurt, and Sidney are probably the only few that are still alive from classic hollywood. Stuff like that is why I can't stand hollywood today. Too many egos with no talent.

  • @savannah92able Great comment! I very much agree. Thank you for taking the time to comment!

  • One would think that the marathon Oscar extravaganzaBORE would be able to fit these truly deserving artists into their very vapidly busy schedule! They could call it, "Make Time for Class!" Being honored at a private dinner is like having your college diploma sent to your home... it looks nice on the wall but after all the work and worry would have been nice to be included in the graduation ceremony! You get my vote...thanks Rick!
  • What a great comment! Thank you!

  • LOL, some people (good or bad) should be honored just for surviving in the industry that long!

  • ...a controversial Oscar ceremony, what with the missing memoriams and this....have not seen Sandra Bullocks Oscar winning performance...its just...I will not believe till I see it....I shall keep an open mind till I do.....though at this moment in time....Helen Mirren was robbed.

  • Maybe its because todays actors, if there is a flaw in their performance, or the movie, perhaps even political views are instantly placed in the public eye. Praise by the media does not always grab the attention that a controversial issue does.

  • Not only did they get their Honorary Award at a dinner, but when they announced their awards for a quick two minutes at the Oscars, non of their younger hollywood peers automatically stood up. They waited a minute or two to give a standing ovation. I was watching with my mother saying, "Get the stick out of ur asses and stand up!"

  • @illaveyoubutler2

    so was Merryl Streep

Sandra's character was lovely and fairy-tale like ...

Even the nomination was excessive ..

    And I love Sandra..

  • I agree that these people should of gotten their awards on stage with the rest of them! They could cut some of the Red Carpet crap out to fit these in but they can't do that! To many people would have a crap fit....

  • Blast from the past. WOW ! 5*****
