An LC-130 jet assisted takeoff (JATO) from the Antarctic ice using solid-fuel rocket engines. JATO helps the aircraft overcome surface friction. Footage courtesy Col. Gary James, Commander, 109th Operations Group, New York Air National Guard.

  • oohh wow, you can tell how heavy it is, man that thing is loaded down, watch the same video of an airshow when its flying light and see how fast it gets off the ground
