An audiovisual presentation about one of the most beautiful planets in the universe.
1992 Saturn was for the first time at the center of a project by Jeff Mills, Mike Banks and Robert Hood (Underground Resistance). Under the project name X-102 (experimental 102) it was devoted to musical interpretation of the second biggest planet in our solar system. With their album "X-102 discovers The Rings of Saturn" they wrote a new and at that time totally unexpected chapter of modern electronic music.
At the time it was known, however, still very little to say about Saturn, its moons, its rings and its characters. Only since the Cassini / Huygens mission, there are more pictures and unique insights into the Saturn system. Jeff Mills decided re-work some of the 16 years old material now this footage from space, the visual side of the project in order to implement and complete. X-102 Rediscovers Of The Rings of Saturn is a breathtaking journey to Saturn with a soundtrack by Mike Banks and Jeff Mills.

1992 stand der Saturn zum ersten mal im Mittelpunkt eines Projektes von Jeff Mills, Mike Banks und Robert Hood (Underground Resistance). Unter dem Projektnamen X-102 (Experimental 102) widmeten sich sich musikalisch dem zweitgrößten Planet unseres Sonnensystems. Mit ihrem Album X-102 discovers The Rings Of Saturn schrieben sie ein neues und zu der Zeit völlig unerwartetes Kapitel moderner elektronischer Musik.
Zu der Zeit wusste man allerdings noch sehr wenig über den Saturn, seine Monde, seine Ringe und ihre Beschaffenheiten. Erst seit den Cassini/Huygen Missionen, gibt es Bilder und mehr Erkenntnisse über das einzigartige Saturnsystem. Jeff Mills entschied sich, an die Arbeit von vor 16 Jahren anzuknüpfen und mit dem nun vorliegenden Filmmaterial aus dem All auch die visuelle Seite des Projektes umzusetzen und damit zu vervollständigen. X-102 Rediscovers The Rings Of Saturn ist eine atemberaubende Reise zum Saturn mit dem Soundtrack von Mike Banks und Jeff Mills.

For those of u who think he's being cocky, it's because the entire project is his idea. If it wasn't for him Mike Banks would be selling crack in Detroit by now.

He's just explaining which individual roles they had in the group and namely for this specific project. They all had/have talents for different things. If you read the Jeff Mills interview published in the Wire, he mentions that he plans to work with Robert Hood on the X-104 project. Would he ever consider doing that if he had low opinions about Robert Hood?

From this interview it sounds like he has a pretty low opinion of Robert Hood. Sounds kind of full of himself, it lowers my opinion of him a bit.
