2 Part 3, How to Keep the Sabbath, Amazing Facts, Pastor Doug Batchelor, Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy Exodus 20:8 (King James Version) 4th commandment of the ten commandments of God
@Myhopeisinhim , If the Lord came to "fulfill" the old covenant, and by His Blood complete the justification process for us by His Life and Death here on earth. Isn't it fair to say that Jesus came to strengthen the way to keep the commands that were not sprinkled as a covenant for the people of Israel only( namely His 10 commands), by showing us the proper way to apply them in our lives only after we have received His Spirit of Grace( matt19:16-26; Heb10:14-18)? Hear His voice and not the Liar.
@Myhopeisinhim, You have one vital point to the contention about the keeping of the law that many professed believers in the Bible fail to point out. Keeping the 10 commands and keeping the "book of the law of Moses" are two seperate Laws. Deuteronomy31:24-26 informs us of the "book of the law" which was to be kept on the "side of the ark." This was sprinkled with the blood of animals( old covenant). The 10 commands were written by the finger of GOD; placed "inside" the ark( Deuteronomy10:1-5).
@Revelation14verse7 "The enemies of God’s law, from the ministers down to the least among them, have a new conception of truth and duty. Too late they see that the Sabbath of the fourth commandment is the seal of the living God. Too late they see the true nature of their spurious Sabbath and the sandy foundation upon which they have been building. They find that they have been fighting against God."
@Myhopeisinhim, you are incorrect, the Sabbath is not the seal of GOd, but the sign of His seal, but let's take it a step further. TO WHOM IS THE HOLY SPIRIT GIVEN? To those who keep His commandments. 1 Sam 15:22 "...to obey is better than sacrifice..." Acts 5:32- "...the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him." Obedience is the key in receiving the seal of God (the HOly SPirit) and Sabbath is a sign of that seal. There are 10 commandments and not one has been changed.
@Myhopeisinhim .... Moses' law was the temporary, ceremonial law of the Old Testament. It regulated the priesthood, sacrifices, rituals, meat and drink offerings, etc., all of which foreshadowed the cross. This law was added "till the seed should come," and that seed was Christ (Galatians 3:16, 19). The ritual and ceremony of Moses' law pointed forward to Christ's sacrifice. When He died, this law came to an end, but the Ten Commandments (God's law) "stand fast for ever and ever." Psalms 111:8.
@Myhopeisinhim Now I'm confused, are you with God or against Him. Jesus said; "John 14:15
If ye love me, keep my commandments." You need to learn a lot about laws in bible. We talking about Sabbath, the 4th of God's Ten Commandment which are forever. You are mixed with Moses' laws which are temporary...
I'm not just talking about the ten, I'm talking about the entire book of the law, the law of Moses, the law of the Lord. Matthew 5 is not just talking about the ten precepts, but every single thing God commanded to Moses, which is well over ten.
Violation of anything in the book made you guilty of the entire law of God, whether it was a command in the ten, or any other command in the book. People seem to pass over this point, its talking about ALL the law, not just ten of them.
As Jesus said in Luke 16:17 "And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail."
"God requires of his subjects obedience, not to nine-tenths of the law, but to every one of the ten precepts. They are like the links of a chain; if one is broken the chain is of no value. The violation of one commandment makes us commandment breakers; and we must yield willing obedience to all the precepts of Jehovah..."
You do realize that the law being spoken of is the book of the law, right? The law that Jesus came not to destroy but to fulfill. And keep in mind he also says that he didn't come to destroy the prophets, but to fulfill it. The prophets is something separate from the law.
