Millions of Americans may be suffering unknowingly and needlessly from hypothyroidism. They are often told their blood test came back normal and are sent home without a clear diagnosis.

Watch Dr. Hotze, Dr. Ellworth, and Dr. Sheridan explain why thyroid lab tests are not always accurate.

  • I wish you guys were my Dr's

  • I wat told I have hypo & that my antibodies are attacking my thyroid but I don't feel sick or any symptoms other than sometimes mabe a bit dizzy.. I felt worse when i took levo (6moths) & it messed me up :( . i am not on any meds & have an appointment today at 1 with an edocrinologist. What test should i have him do?

  • If this is not the way to go.. then WHAT is? Please respond with providing a solution aswell. I think many people will benefit using that info when heading to their doc.

    thank you

  • I have suffered for years in the Uk but we are so far behind the US it scares me. All doctors should be retrained on this problem, and not depend solely on the blood work.

  • To answer the question below, the standard lab test is called the "TSH test" (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone). However, as this video points out, labs label 95% of all results "normal". So even if the entire population was hypothyroid, only 5% would be labeled as such, and results vary up to 25% on the same sample from different labs. Labs are nearly useless, in other words. Doctors must diagnose from the symptoms and exam, and patients should track basal temperature (search for Broda Barnes).

  • what is the accurate name of the thyroid test which i ask my doctor for? PLEASE RESPOND! :(

  • This is extremely frustrating.

  • I couldn't agree more!
