If you look on the right, you'll see "Angry Squirrel 3" there you can hear the teeth chattering from extreme emotional stress. It's very sad if understand these animals. Poor guy :(

Yes it is a warning sound for predators and other unwelcome things, so as you can imagine, its also a territorial warning as well. Whenever a squirrel is under stress, they do 4 things which are flicking the tail, chitter, bark and chatter their teeth. the teeth chattering indicates extreme stress, probably from a flood of adrenaline. If the squirrel is under even more stress "near shock" it will begin to cry "whimper" repeating the same sounding whimper.

It's a warning sound for all the others also. They all do that when danger is around.

So bizarre yet hilarious!
Did it hurt it's chest? It kept holding it?
-
it's an alarm call. This fuzzer must be seeing some danger, maybe, a cat or a dog in vicinity...

I just heard a squirrel make that sound for the first time and it made me think it was hurt or something. What does that sound mean?
@immaquaker07 Maybe it's looking for a good time? ;b
