@ErikBlondie I think he's better in melody and felling then all of those guitarists, give a listen to his solo album Suspended Animation, Lost Without You has an amazing amount of feeling. Goodnight Kiss off Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence is another good example.

very close to the album version... cleaner than the scenes from NY dvd too..

There is a serious lack of feeling here. Technique is good but (like alot others have said) it just gets really really boring. I don't know why but John Petrucci have never suceeded in giving me goosebumps the way Yngwie Malmsteen, Michael Schenker or George Lynch (etc.) has even though he obviusly is the better guitarist from a techical viewpoint.
