@TheHammerheart He actually says both "four/for roses and water" & "for roses or water" in different versions. In this one I hear "or water" everytime, in other versions I hear "or water" the first two choruses and "and water" the last chorus. Whichever way he sings it I'm sure the double meaning is there and that's the great thing about great lyrics, find the meaning & interpretation in them yourself. Personal to the writer, but also the listener. RWH is a true American treasure!

To those who only found Ray Wylie a year ago; I only found him about a month ago, and I'm gettin' real old, like Ray. So Just in time. Thanks to James McMurty. listening repeatedly to his original and masterful "Choctaw Bingo" for the umpteenth time I eventually took the gamble of checking the cover by Ray... good enough to make me try his other stuff. Really great bunch of songs going back down the years. Where ya been hidin Ray?! You never tried to break the UK market? LOVING IT ! THANKS Man
