@AlexasarusRex (1) It's このみ in hiragana, and 木の実 in kanji. It's a kanji for "kinomi" but you read it "konomi". (2) Yes! It's correct if you want to say "Good morning. My name is Alex". It would be normal if you're talking in front of a lot of people, like teaching a class. If you're meeting someone in person, it would be more natural to say
はじめまして、私の名前はアレックスです。"My name is Alex. Nice to meet you" even if it's in the morning.

You should slow Down for first timers so they can understand more easily because this is actually really fast for first lesson

@kanadajindesu2 When introducing yourself, it's customary to say your last name first then your first name. People will then refer to you by your last name(In your example, "Smith-san"). Unless they are really close to you, they won't call you by your first name.
