  • Just wondering do you get money from this?

  • @nextworld5 Japan Society is actually a non-profit organization located in New York City, so we don't make money from this. People are welcome to donate to the organization to help us continue our programming and events. Videos are just a small part of what Japan Society does, as we have various gallery exhibitions, films, performances, lectures, and other events year round. So check out our website if interested!

  • @AlexasarusRex (1) It's このみ in hiragana, and 木の実 in kanji. It's a kanji for "kinomi" but you read it "konomi". (2) Yes! It's correct if you want to say "Good morning. My name is Alex". It would be normal if you're talking in front of a lot of people, like teaching a class. If you're meeting someone in person, it would be more natural to say

はじめまして、私の名前はアレックスです。"My name is Alex. Nice to meet you" even if it's in the morning.

  • well done

  • @BobLeKatt Thnx! =)

  • You should slow Down for first timers so they can understand more easily because this is actually really fast for first lesson

  • konichiwas pronounced wrong.

  • @kanadajindesu2 When introducing yourself, it's customary to say your last name first then your first name. People will then refer to you by your last name(In your example, "Smith-san"). Unless they are really close to you, they won't call you by your first name.

  • With "Today" U R making such gorgeous gesture and I hate when You Are not doing this :)

  • nextworld5 ill second that lol
