  • yeah, the gardener dude, not sure if anybody else noticed him, that was Steve McQueen, he played Tom Horn in the movie, Tom Horn, a movie about a guy named Tom Horn. Steve also played in a movie where he drove his roto-tiller 300 miles to see his dying sister. He also played in a baseball movie about Barry Bonds, where Bonds hits these home runs and breaks out stadium lights, its called "The Un-Natural"

  • @cowboysteel - Richard Farnsworth also starred in a great little movie called "The Grey Fox", about Bill Miner, an aged train robber in the Pacific Northwest. It's tough to get, but really worth it.

  • I saw these in Omaha Nebraska back in 1981. There was also an Olympia commercial where a group of Rednecks are hunting Artesians at night, using hound dogs and shotguns.

  • I would love to see the others...anyone know where?

  • Used to have a shirt with Artesian Search & Rescue Team.

  • I loved these. hard to find the artisian series of commercials though. thanks.

  • Yes the man who played the gardener was Richard Farnsworth,He played the sheriff in the movie Misery,With James Caan,And Kathy bates...

  • Ah yes, the Artesian commercials. If you were in Washington during the early 1980s, you saw a lot of bumper stickers that went along with this campaign that said "I seen 'em!"

How about the commercial with the folks singing around the bar:

"Are there, or aren't there Artesians, Do you think one will ever be found?

Well just pour me another cold Oly, my friend. The question is worth one more round."

Yeah, I watched way too much tv back then.

  • This is one of my favorite commercials ever! I remember seeing it when I first moved to Olympia in 1981.
