@kctvirginia What an IGNORANT thing to say - don't you know that music does not come from a vacuum. Folk music is passed down. AP Carter travelled all round the south to find songs he could use. Those were not "original".  The majority of Woody Guthrie's songs are taken from Carter Family melodies. Take "this land is your land". That comes from "When the worlds on fire", or Guthrie's "Tom Joad", that comes from "John Hardy was a desperate little man". Arlo simply followed the folk tradition.
