A research team used Brookhaven Lab's giant atom smasher, the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider, or RHIC, to ram charged gold particles into each other billions of times, creating a "quark-gluon plasma" with a temperature hotter than anything known in the universe, even supernova explosions. The experiment is recreating the conditions of the universe a few microseconds after the Big Bang.

  • @alphavortex1 they use light and maths to aid their presumptions

  • i agree with alphavortex1 how the heck do they read that temperature ???? 4 trillon ,, LOl that comment is a joke

  • @alphavortex1 i agree. if they used light to judge the temperature, they have quite a few degrees error in there. To my knowledge gamma rays are the highest energy wave, and i wonder if that would still be the same at 4 trillion degrees.

  • @rich16041987 The reaction was the size of a single Gold particle, and the heat was only that hot for billionths of a nanosecond. Because of that, most objects you could come across can contain the reaction safely. But I wouldn't touch it with my own hands because of the gamma radiation.

  • how the hell do u contain a reaction that hot??
