HTC Desire HD Camera Problem Video 1

I originally sent my HTC Desire HD to HTC for a different camera fault 2 weeks ago (photos appeared blurred on the left hand side) and I got the phone back from them yesterday. The camera still functioned fine up until this evening, when these dark pink lines started to appear when trying to take a photo and they would appear on any photo taken too. Today the problem has got worse and as you can see on the video, the whole camera is really bad - the problem is present no matter if you take a photo or record a video.

When the camera is in standby mode (when you are about to take a photo) the camera keeps beaming white flashes continiously but strangely enough - if you position the camera towards the direct form of any strong light, the problem almost disappears until you change the position of the camera to something dark.

HTC have agreed to repair the phone again so it is going back to them next week and hopefully they will pick up on the problem and fix it. Weather this problem is related to my original camera blur problem or not I'm not sure, but while the phone was in at HTC last week for that problem they did not find any hardware problems with the camera or the rest of the phone so I'm really hoping this time that they will pick up on a hardware fault. Once I get the phone back from them again after this repair attempt I will update this video.

He collected it this morning am back to my old phone am missing it already :( and have this feeling that am gonna wait 10 days get it back and with the problem still there i have no faith in getting it sorted after hearing about you.

@daveswildcamping The first time for me unfortunately was a bit of a shock as you know, when all the did was re-flash the firmware - and the total time I was without the phone was for 8 days I think. As soon as I got the phone back and I knew straight away the problem was still there, I rang HTC and they arranged for the courier to collect the phone again the next day and another 8 days later after the 2nd repair the phone was fixed. Apart from the first repair, HTC were spot on with the repair

I have the same problem with the blur on the left side on all my photos and vids sometimes more apparant than other times, i have just been intouch with htc today and they are gonna pick it up on tuesday.

Has the blur been sorted on yours mate.

@daveswildcamping Hi Mate -The first time I sent my phone into HTC for repair, all they did was re-flash he firmware on the phone and it did not fix the problem. I then sent the phone back into them again straight away for a second repair and this time they replaced the entire camera unit on the phone and this fixed the problem.

@daveswildcamping You could try that mate but it depends what sort of policy they run when it comes to phone repairs.

Latest update :( HTC sent my camera back received it today and the problem still remains so been on the phone to them and they are collecting it again tomorrow what a waist of my time I new on opening the package no mention about what had been done to the phone IF ANYTHING, I have explained Im leaving a 1gb sd card card in the phone with some images i have just taken to show the problem.
